Gula Padang Terap Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Gula Padang Terap Berhad) (GPT) was incorporated on March 14, 1973 to meet the increasing demand for high-quality sugars for both the domestic and export markets.

The GPTSB factory, located at 45KM, Jalan Padang Sanai, Kuala Nerang in Kedah Darul Aman, is a well-planned, state-of-the-art complex with the combined capability to mill sugar cane and refine raw sugar. After years of continuous expansion and modernisation, the factory is today capable of refining up to 800mt of sugar a day.

As well as meeting the demand for best-grade sugars, GPTSB also plays a major role in improving the socio-economic status of the local population in the district of Padang Terap in Kedah. Over the years, GPTSB has not only been providing employment and key business opportunities to the people of Padang Terap, but has also initiated dialogues with community leaders, provided support during natural disasters and taken a keen interest in the overall welfare and wellbeing of the local community. GPTSB has also provided practical training to university and college students and sponsors tuition to needy students within the locality as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
